BMFA National Championships<\/h3>\n

The BMFA National Championships (Nats) is held annually, normally at RAF Barkston Heath, near Grantham, Lincolnshire. The event brings together a wide variety of aero modelling disciplines from control line, pylon, scale, helicopters, IMAC and F3A aerobatics to find the BMFA Nationals Champion in each category.<\/p>\n

UKF3A run the F3A aerobatics competition on behalf of the BMFA to find the BMFA Nationals Champion for each schedule and the overall F3A British Nationals Champion who is the winner of the FAI event, and wins \u2018The Society of Model Aeronautical Engineers Radio Control Trophy\u2019 that is presented annually at the BMFA Awards dinner.<\/p>\n

This trophy was jointly presented to the BMFA by Henry J Nicholls Ltd. It was first won in 1948 by P C Doughty and has been awarded every year since, with Ken Binks holding the record with nine victories over an eleven year period. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n

UKF3A Championships<\/h3>\n

The UKF3A Championships have been held since the associations inception in 1979. Typically a 2 day contest that decides the Associations champion in each schedule.<\/p>\n The Mike Birch trophy has been awarded to the Association Champion since 1980, with Ken Binks the inaugural winner and then going onto win a record six times, Matt Hoyland six times and  Kevin Caton five times.\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

National League Competitions<\/h5>\n

UKF3A organises National League events throughout the summer for F3A aerobatics.<\/p>\nMost are one day competitions held with the kind permission of BMFA model flying clubs around the country.\n\nA National League is compiled at the end of the season.\n\n<\/div>\n

BMFA Open Competitions<\/h5>\n

These events are open to any BMFA member .<\/p>\nDescribed by the BMFA competition rules as \u2018centralised\u2019 events, BMFA Open events will select the England Team and our International team members for the Triple Crown.\n\nThese events also contribute toward National League Competitions for all schedules.\n\n<\/div>\n
